  • 3 ripe bananas (mashed)
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • Optional: 1/2 cup nuts or chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking pan.
  2. In a mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas until smooth but slightly chunky.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together melted butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla until well combined.
  4. Gradually add the wet mixture to the dry ingredients (flour, baking powder, salt) and fold gently until just combined. Avoid overmixing.
  5. If desired, fold in nuts or chocolate chips.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown. Use a toothpick to check for doneness.
  7. Allow to cool slightly before cutting into bars.
