With a rich buttery flavor and hints of vanilla, these treats are a must for gatherings or cozy nights at home. Easy to make and even easier to devour, blondies will quickly become your go-to dessert!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (1 stick)
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs (room temperature)
  • 2 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8×8-inch baking dish or line it with parchment paper.
  2. Melt the butter in a medium saucepan over low heat. Remove from heat and allow to cool slightly.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine melted butter with brown sugar and granulated sugar, whisking until smooth.
  4. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in vanilla extract.
  5. In another bowl, sift together flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually fold this dry mixture into the wet ingredients until just combined.
  6. If desired, fold in chocolate chips.
  7. Spread the batter evenly in the prepared dish and bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown; a toothpick should come out clean.
  8. Allow to cool completely before cutting into squares.

Keywords: For added flavor, swap chocolate chips for butterscotch chips or nuts. Store blondies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to one week. To reheat, microwave for 10-15 seconds for that fresh-baked taste.
