- 1 package wonton wrappers (about 40 sheets)
- 1 lb ground pork
- 4 green onions, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp fresh ginger, grated
- 6 cups low-sodium chicken broth
- 2 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 1 cup chopped vegetables (carrots or bok choy)
- In a large bowl, mix ground pork, garlic, ginger, green onions, soy sauce, and sesame oil until well combined.
- Place a teaspoon of filling in the center of each wonton wrapper. Moisten edges with water and fold to seal.
- In a large pot, bring chicken broth to a gentle simmer. Add sliced ginger or whole green onions if desired.
- Drop wontons into the simmering broth and cook for about 5–7 minutes until they float and are cooked through.
- If using vegetables, add them during the last few minutes of cooking until tender.
- Serve hot, garnished with extra green onions or herbs.
