  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp fresh thyme, chopped
  • 2 tbsp fresh rosemary, chopped
  • 2 tbsp fresh sage, chopped
  • 1 lemon, halved
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (160°C) with the oven rack in the center.
  2. In a bowl, mix softened butter with minced garlic and chopped herbs until well combined.
  3. Carefully loosen the turkey skin and spread half of the herb-butter mixture underneath. Rub the remaining mixture all over the turkey.
  4. Season the turkey cavity generously with salt and pepper. Place halved lemon and extra herbs inside for added moisture.
  5. Roast breast-side up on a rack in a baking pan. Baste every 30 minutes until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C), approximately 13 minutes per pound.
  6. Let the turkey rest for 20-30 minutes before carving.
