  • 1 cup warm milk (110°F/43°C)
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 24 tbsp milk or cream

Instructions

  1. Activate the yeast by mixing warm milk and active dry yeast in a bowl. Let it sit until frothy (about 5 minutes).
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, and salt. Add melted butter, honey, and the yeast mixture; mix until just combined.
  3. Knead on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth.
  4. Place dough in an oiled bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm area until doubled in size (about 1 hour).
  5. Punch down the dough and divide into equal pieces. Shape each into smooth balls.
  6. Arrange on a parchment-lined baking tray and let rise again for another 30 minutes while preheating the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  7. Bake for 20–25 minutes until golden brown.
  8. For the glaze, whisk powdered sugar with milk or cream until smooth; drizzle over warm buns.
