  • 1 lb flank steak, thinly sliced
  • 4 green onions, chopped (white and green parts)
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp fresh ginger, grated
  • 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, and black pepper until well combined.
  2. Place the sliced flank steak in a ziplock bag or bowl and pour the marinade over it. Seal or cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour (overnight is best).
  3. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Add a splash of oil if desired.
  4. Cook the marinated beef in batches for about 3-4 minutes until browned and cooked through. Add green onions during the last minute of cooking.
  5. Serve hot with steamed rice or in lettuce wraps.
