  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • ¾ cup cocoa powder
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup pumpkin puree
  • 2 large eggs
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • ½ tsp nutmeg

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×9-inch baking pan.
  2. In a bowl, melt the butter and mix in granulated sugar. Gradually add cocoa powder and flour until smooth.
  3. Stir in eggs until well combined.
  4. In another bowl, beat cream cheese until smooth. Add pumpkin puree, brown sugar, one egg, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and nutmeg; blend until creamy.
  5. Pour half of the brownie batter into the prepared pan. Spoon dollops of the pumpkin mixture on top and add remaining brownie batter in dollops.
  6. Use a knife to swirl through both batters gently.
  7. Bake for 30–35 minutes until a toothpick comes out with moist crumbs.
  8. Cool for at least 15 minutes before cutting into squares.
