  • 1 box red velvet cake mix (15.25 oz)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 8 oz cream cheese (softened)
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, combine cake mix, eggs, and vegetable oil until blended.
  3. In another bowl, mix cream cheese, sugar, vanilla extract, and one egg until smooth.
  4. Pour half of the red velvet batter into the pan and smooth it out.
  5. Dollop the cream cheese mixture over the batter and spread gently.
  6. Top with the remaining red velvet batter and swirl with a knife.
  7. Sprinkle chocolate chips on top and bake for 25-30 minutes or until mostly clean when tested with a toothpick.
  8. Allow to cool completely before cutting into bites.
