Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup whole milk (lukewarm)
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 2 large eggs (room temperature)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • Powdered sugar (for glaze, optional)

Instructions

  1. Warm the milk until lukewarm. In a large bowl, mix yeast and sugar; add warm milk and let sit for 5 minutes until frothy. Stir in melted butter and beaten eggs.
  2. Gradually add flour and salt to the mixture to form a soft dough. Knead on a floured surface for about 8-10 minutes until smooth.
  3. Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place for approximately 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  4. Mix together brown sugar and cinnamon in a bowl; spread melted butter evenly over rolled-out dough before sprinkling the cinnamon mixture on top.
  5. Roll up tightly into a log shape, slice into 1-inch pieces, and place in a greased baking dish. Let rise again for about 30 minutes.
  6. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
