  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 2 slices sourdough or whole grain bread

  • 2 tablespoons finely chopped onion
  • 2 tablespoons butter

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine the drained tuna, mayonnaise, diced celery, onion, and Dijon mustard until well mixed.
  2. Heat a skillet over medium heat.
  3. Spread half of the tuna mixture on one slice of bread, top with shredded cheese, and cover with another slice of bread.
  4. Generously butter both sides of the sandwich.
  5. Place the sandwich in the skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes per side until golden brown.
  6. Cover the skillet with a lid for 1-2 minutes to melt the cheese fully.
  7. Remove from heat, cut diagonally, and serve immediately.
