Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup warm milk (110°F)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
  • 2 tbsp milk (for glaze)
  • Food coloring (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Dough: In a large bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, melted butter, and yeast. Let sit for 5 minutes until bubbly.
  2. Add Flour and Eggs: Gradually mix in flour and eggs until a soft dough forms. Knead on a floured surface for about 8-10 minutes until smooth.
  3. Let it Rise: Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  4. Create the Filling: Mix sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl. Roll out the dough into a rectangle about ½ inch thick; spread melted butter over it and sprinkle with the sugar-cinnamon mixture.
  5. Roll and Cut: Tightly roll up the dough from one end into a log shape and slice into 12 equal pieces using dental floss for clean cuts.
  6. Bake Them Up: Place rolls in a greased baking dish and let rise again for about 30 minutes while preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake for 25–30 minutes until golden brown.
  7. Drizzle Glaze: Mix powdered sugar with milk until smooth; drizzle over warm rolls.
