  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 28 oz canned crushed tomatoes
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves, chopped
  • 2 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). In a bowl, mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, garlic, parsley, salt, and pepper until combined. Shape into golf ball-sized meatballs.
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Brown meatballs on all sides for about five minutes.
  3. In another pot, sauté diced onions and minced garlic until translucent. Add crushed tomatoes, salt, pepper, and basil; simmer for 20 minutes.
  4. Cook spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and reserve some pasta water.
  5. Add browned meatballs to the simmering sauce and cook for an additional ten minutes.
  6. Serve spaghetti topped with sauce and meatballs; garnish with extra Parmesan cheese.
