Ingredients

For the Base
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips
For the Topping
  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1/2 cup confectioners' sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Method

Prepare the Brownie Base
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the granulated sugar, brown sugar, and melted butter until smooth.
  3. Add the eggs and vanilla extract, and mix until well combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  6. Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan, spreading it evenly.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
Make the Peanut Butter Topping
  1. In a medium bowl, combine the peanut butter, confectioners' sugar, and softened butter. Mix until smooth and creamy.
  2. Spread the peanut butter mixture evenly over the cooled brownies.
Add the Chocolate Drizzle
  1. In a small microwave-safe bowl, melt the semi-sweet chocolate chips in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until smooth.
  2. Drizzle the melted chocolate over the peanut butter layer using a fork or a piping bag.
  3. Allow the brownies to cool completely before slicing into squares.
