Ingredients
  

For the Base
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup brown sugar packed
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
For the Topping
  • 3 medium apples peeled, cored, and sliced
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup caramel sauce
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon

Method
 

Prepare the Cookie Base
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine the flour, brown sugar, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, mix together the melted butter, egg, and vanilla extract.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
  5. Spread the cookie dough evenly in a greased 10-inch skillet.
Prepare the Apple Topping
  1. In a separate bowl, toss the sliced apples with granulated sugar and cinnamon.
  2. Arrange the apple slices on top of the cookie base in the skillet.
  3. Drizzle the caramel sauce over the apple topping.
Bake and Serve
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the cookie is golden brown and the apples are tender.
  2. Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving.
  3. Serve warm, optionally topped with vanilla ice cream or extra caramel sauce.
