Chicken Parmesan Baked Pasta

Ingredients
  

For the Base
  • 12 ounces penne pasta
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 pound chicken breast cooked and shredded
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese shredded
For the Topping
  • 1 cup Parmesan cheese grated
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley chopped for garnish

Method
 

Prepare the Pasta
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the penne pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
Prepare the Chicken Mixture
  1. In a large bowl, combine the cooked pasta, marinara sauce, and shredded chicken. Mix well to combine.
  2. Stir in half of the mozzarella cheese into the pasta mixture.
Assemble the Dish
  1. Transfer the pasta mixture into a greased 9x13 inch baking dish.
  2. Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella cheese on top, followed by the grated Parmesan cheese and Italian seasoning.
Bake
  1. Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for 20 minutes.
  2. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
Garnish and Serve
  1. Remove from the oven and let it sit for 5 minutes.
  2. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.

Notes
