Ingredients
  

For the Gnocchi
  • 1 pound gnocchi
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 can crushed tomatoes 28 ounces
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup fresh basil torn into pieces
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
For Serving
  • 1/4 cup parmesan cheese grated
  • 1 tablespoon balsamic glaze optional

Method
 

  1. In a large pot of salted boiling water, cook the gnocchi according to package instructions until they float to the top. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  3. Add the crushed tomatoes to the skillet and simmer for about 5 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.
  4. Stir in the heavy cream, salt, and pepper. Cook for an additional 3-4 minutes until the sauce is heated through.
  5. Add the cooked gnocchi to the skillet and gently toss to coat them in the creamy tomato sauce.
  6. Remove from heat and fold in the fresh basil until just combined.
  7. Serve immediately, garnished with grated parmesan cheese and a drizzle of balsamic glaze if desired.

Notes
