One Pot Rigatoni Bolognese

Ingredients
  

For the Base
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 medium onion diced
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 carrot carrot finely chopped
  • 1 celery stalk celery finely chopped
  • 1 can crushed tomatoes 28 ounces
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 2 cups rigatoni pasta
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
For the Topping
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil chopped

Method
 

Prepare the Base
  1. In a large pot, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
  2. Add the diced onion, carrot, and celery and sauté for about 5 minutes, until softened.
  3. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional 1 minute until fragrant.
  4. Add the ground beef to the pot, breaking it up with a spoon, and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes.
Add the Sauce Ingredients
  1. Stir in the crushed tomatoes, beef broth, dried oregano, dried basil, salt, and black pepper.
  2. Bring the mixture to a simmer.
Cook the Pasta
  1. Add the rigatoni pasta to the pot, ensuring it is submerged in the sauce.
  2. Cover the pot and let it simmer for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the pasta is cooked al dente.
Serve
  1. Once the pasta is cooked, remove the pot from heat.
  2. Serve the rigatoni Bolognese hot, topped with grated Parmesan cheese and chopped fresh basil.

Notes
